Your drug awareness presentation should encourage teens to make intelligent decisions regarding drug use. Therefore, you will have to research a variety of different aspects regarding the drug so that you can present as much information as possible. In order to complete this research, you will select a role from the following:

Historian – It is your job to research general information about the drug and to make sure your research notes answer the following inquiry questions.

Inquiry Questions:

What are the different names or nicknames for this drug?
Where did the drug come from?
How long has it been in use?
How is the drug made?
What are the dangers in the process?
What are some interesting statistics about this drug? (teen use, deaths, reported emergency room visits, etc.)

Medical Doctor - It is your job to research the physical aspects of the drug and to make sure your research notes answer the following inquiry questions.

Inquiry Questions:

What type of drug is it? (inhalant, pill, etc.)
How is the drug ingested?
What are the short-term physical effects on the body?
What the long-term physical effects on the body?
What organs are affected by short and long-term use?
What are the physical signs of addiction?

Counselor - It is your job to research the psychological aspects of the drug and to make sure your research notes answer the following inquiry questions.

Inquiry Questions:

What are the reasons teens start using this drug?
What are the short-term psychological effects of using this drug?
What are the long-term psychological effects of using this drug?
What steps can a person take to break the addiction to this drug?
What does the rehabilitation process involve?
What are the legal consequences of using this drug?
What can a person do to get help if addicted to this drug? (give a few suggestions)
